Oil / Fuel Adulteration in India is a pure result of supply chain mismatch. Their is huge demand of fuel for home, transport and other purpose, while its supply at certain levels and certainly and rural level is not up to mark as required, thus resulting in finding some substitute or adulteration of oil or fuel.
More on it, now the days as the petrol and diesel pricing is not controlled by Indian Government, international impact on pricing is much and resulting in high priced fuel for end users based on international market price. This is also one the reason people finds the low cost solution and thus adulteration.
At many of rural places you can easily find auto, bikes and even trucks using part of kerosene as their main fuel. Recently I visited “Achalpur”, I had the shared auto from station to my relatives house, he said 15 rupeya, I said 10, he simply replies… sahab, kerosene bhi 30 rupeya hogaya hai aur petrol toh pucho mat 70 rupeya hai.
I think, its a self discipline which can help us in reducing oil / fuel adulteration. One should avoid cases of oil / fuel adulteration.
